Okay so here goes....

A peacock laid an egg on top of a mountain. Suddenly, there was an earthquake, which direction did the egg fall?? Left or right??

umm...I think peacocks, lay eggs...so there goes my answer.

I've heard the same thing with a "rooster" in place of the peacock...and, of course, rooster's don't lay eggs...

Yup, I've also heard, "If a rooster lays an egg on top of a barn, on which side will the egg roll down?", never the peacock one. Anyway, last I heard, only peahens lay eggs, not those with cocks
